Sotvo is made by Novence S.A.S., a French company registered in Paris. Sotvo itself is an invite-based, end-to-end encrypted messaging app for two people who already know each other; Novence exists to build it, and not much else.
This page is the public record: who stands behind the app, the principles the work follows, and how to reach us.
The company record
Novence S.A.S. is a société par actions simplifiée under French law. There is no team page and there are no founder names anywhere on this site; Novence signs the work as a company.

The name is a compression of sotto voce, the musical instruction to lower your voice. That choice has its own small page: why it is called sotvo.
Three principles
Everything Novence ships follows three principles, and each one is checkable in the product.
The first is that a room holds exactly two people who chose each other. There is no directory and no way to be found; a room opens when one person hands the other a code.
The second is that the server stays an outsider. Messages are end-to-end encrypted, and the machine in the middle relays sealed envelopes it cannot open. The security page walks through the mechanics, one by one.
The third is that nothing is built to last. Conversations live in memory, never on disk, and a room that ends leaves nothing behind.
This website is held to the same standard as the app. We made no exception for marketing.
this site doesn’t watch you — no analytics, no cookies, no trackers.
How to reach us
Write to contact@novencesas.com. One address covers press, questions about the record above, and security reports; it is read by the same small team that builds the app. Postal mail reaches us at the Paris address in the table.
sotvo is not yet on the App Store. at launch it will be available in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and most of the EU.
