sotvo makes a one-time code. Nothing about it identifies you, and the app never asks who you are.
hand over the code
Give it to the one person you mean it for, on any channel you already trust — out loud works fine. The code opens a room once, then the server forgets it.
compare five symbols
Once you’re both inside, each screen shows the same five symbols. Matching symbols mean no one is in between.
your voice stays in the room
Calls start inside the room, only while you’re both there. They’re encrypted end-to-end and never recorded — and they carry no one’s IP address.

screenshots can’t be prevented
iOS lets anyone capture a screen, and no app can stop that. What sotvo does instead is simple: both sides are told, every time, and that can’t be turned off.
a compromised phone
If a device itself is unsafe — malware, or someone who knows its passcode — encryption can’t help. App Lock adds a layer on top; it doesn’t replace taking care of your phone.
the fact that a room exists
Sealed envelopes still pass through a server, so ours can see that something moved, and roughly when. It can’t see what, or between whom. We keep that trace as small and as short-lived as we can.

is sotvo anonymous?
sotvo has no accounts, so nothing in it names you. There is no profile, no phone number, no sign-up. A room recognizes a code, not a person — who you are stays between the two of you.
what happens when a room ends?
The room and everything inside it is gone. Rooms end on their schedule, or sooner if either side burns them. Nothing is archived on your device or on a server, and nothing can be recovered — by you, by the other side, or by us.
can anyone else read your messages?
sotvo is built so that keys are created on your devices and never leave them. What passes through the server is a sealed envelope; it gets delivered and forgotten. There is no version of the room that anyone else can open.
why is there no way to find people?
By design. sotvo has no search, no discovery, and no way to meet someone you don’t already know. The only door into a room is a code handed over by the person who opened it. That rule is what keeps every room a room for two.
how much will sotvo cost?
Joining rooms is always free. Opening full rooms — calls, longer times, five rooms at once — is planned as a one-time $6.99 unlock. There is no subscription.
when does sotvo launch?
sotvo is being finished for iPhone now. When it reaches the App Store, this page will link to it — quietly, like everything else here.
